The Federal Reserve Banks are tracking changes in technology and upgrading platforms so we can provide you with the highest quality products and services. As such, we have embarked on an initiative to modernize the System’s Check platform. This effort, Check Platform Modernization, will result in a centralized processing infrastructure, moving from multiple electronic processing sites to one to support high–quality, efficient processing. In addition, this modernization initiative is expected to provide a flexible and scalable infrastructure in an increasingly electronic environment.
As previously announced, the Federal Reserve Banks are migrating to a new check processing platform. Over the past two years, regular project updates have been distributed including a tentative conversion schedule on September 7, 2012.
Substitute check and PDF services have transitioned to the new platform in recent weeks and we will be proceeding with Deposit and FedReceipt® implementations Friday, October 26, 2012 to be effective for the business day of Monday, October 29, 2012.
We will continue to add information to this resource center as this initiative moves forward. For your convenience, we have added the Check Platform Modernization Resource Center to ”My Quick Links“ in the left navigation bar on FRBServices.org so you can easily access this page for the latest news and updates.
