As announced in July 2007, the Federal Reserve Banks will discontinue most non-Check 21 Payor Bank Services, including MICR Information, MICR Presentment, MICR Presentment Plus, FedImage® Bulk File Delivery and Account Totals, in favor of Check 21 presentment services by January 2010.
We encourage all Payor Bank Services customers to begin evaluating product options and preparing to transition to Check 21-enabled presentment services as soon as possible.
Getting a head start in the transition process toward Check 21-enabled products will position your financial institution to be prepared for 2010, when existing legacy Payor Bank Services will no longer be supported by the Federal Reserve Banks. The Check 21-enabled inclearing services offered by the Reserve Banks -- FedReceipt® and FedReceipt Plus -- are excellent service options for legacy Payor Bank Services.
All MICR File Formats (except SOP IV.8, X9.37-1994 and X9.37-2003), Account Number Sorting, Grayscale Image Capture Services and MICR Manipulation Services will be discontinued.
All MICR Information Services, Support of all MICR Presentment and MICR Presentment Plus Services in legacy file formats (SOP IV.8 and X9.37-1994), Account Totals Services, FedImage® File Delivery and FedImage CD-ROM Delivery (excludes CD-ROM Delivery for selected accounts) will be discontinued.
We encourage you to begin transitioning your Payor Bank Services to Check 21-enabled services as soon as possible. Contact your account executive today to discuss how Check 21-enabled presentment service can meet your financial institution’s needs.
