Effective July 2, 2012, the Federal Reserve Banks will increase the FedLine Advantage dial-only VPN monthly surcharge from $50 to $100. To avoid this monthly fee, customers are strongly encouraged to upgrade any current dial-only connections to Internet-based connections at this time. There are no additional Federal Reserve Bank fees associated with the set up of an Internet connection and no new VPN device needs to be purchased.
Please note this monthly surcharge will likely increase in the future to address the rising costs of supporting the diminishing number of customers that continue to access the FedLine Advantage access solution via a phone line (dial-only connection) instead of an Internet-based connection. Over the past year, we have reached out to the remaining customers with dial-only VPN connections to encourage them to upgrade their connection as the telecommunications industry has shifted away from this technology given its limited usable life.
To upgrade your dial-only VPN connection, call the Customer Contact Center (CCC) today at (888) 333-7010. The Federal Reserve Banks have CCC staff available to answer any questions and help customers upgrade their FedLine Advantage VPN connection to an Internet-based connection.
