The Federal Reserve Banks’ array of Check Adjustment Webinars help you maximize the benefits of our services. These online sessions provide a rich, interactive learning experience and are facilitated by knowledgeable Federal Reserve staff. In 2009, we expanded our offerings to include a no-cost informational Webinar and a priced, but fully-customizable, Webinar. These two new training offerings are in addition to our standard catalog of six topics.
All three training options will continue to be offered in 2010. If you are unsure which session to attend, our informational “What is a Webinar?” event may be a good place to start. This one-hour, no cost session allows you to experience the Webinar environment, while providing information regarding each of our priced Check Adjustment Webinars. You’ll also have an opportunity to ask questions to determine which of our Webinars best meet your training needs.
Our standard sessions are designed to offer detailed information on the six topics listed below, in order to provide practical information that can be applied immediately.
These two-hour sessions cover everything from basic principles to information about investigation types (ITYPs). One topic standard in all Webinars is an overview of the Check Adjustments Quick Reference Guide (PDF), one of many online resources available to our customers through FRBservices.org.
“One of the most popular sessions this year is ‘Managing Check Adjustments on FedLine Web,’” stated lead Webinar trainer, Tracy Beauford. “With paper adjustment requests and archivable documents-to-follow being priced beginning in January 2010, customers are eagerly transitioning to electronic adjustments. The FedLine Web session helps them to make this transition more seamlessly.”
In response to feedback from our customers, we’ve also created a customizable Webinar, which allows us to collaborate more directly with your organization to develop a session suited to your specific training needs. These extended three-hour sessions not only provide you with information specifically relevant to your organization, but also provide you the opportunity to have attendees join the session from multiple locations.
TierOne Bank (Off-site Link), headquartered in Lincoln, Nebraska, took advantage of this resource as it prepared to transition to an all-electronic interface directly to the Federal Reserve Banks. Working with its account executive and the Federal Reserve’s Check Adjustment Webinar team, a customized Webinar was created to meet TierOne’s unique requirements.
Although TierOne had been submitting adjustments for inclearings and returns directly to the Federal Reserve Banks for some time, it was using a correspondent to submit forward adjustments. TierOne wanted to be sure staff were well prepared to transition their forward adjustments as efficiently as possible.
TierOne’s custom Webinar was attended by all nine of its adjustments employees located at the corporate headquarters. Their selected topics included elements from “Basic Principles and Concepts of Check 21 Adjustments,” “DTF Archiving” and “Managing Check Adjustments on FedLine Web.”
“The customized Webinar was a wonderful resource. Even though I’ve been doing adjustments for 15 years, I still learned something new.”
Kay Sigwing, Vice President
TierOne Bank
TierOne began submitting all adjustments electronically to the Federal Reserve in early November and have found it to be extremely beneficial. According to Sigwing, “The Webinars helped us identify ways to make our electronic check adjustments even more efficient.”
There are several dates remaining in 2009, as well as in first quarter 2010. View the Check Adjustment Webinar dates, times and details, and then register quickly. These Webinars fill up fast!
Participants can attend each of the phone-facilitated, online Webinar sessions without leaving their desks. The cost savings derived by eliminating travel, and the ability to have multiple participants attend sessions from one location, adds tremendous value to the Webinars.
