If your question is not answered by the information provided on the site, My FedDirectorySM provides a comprehensive list of service and support contacts who can assist you.
Q: Are the Federal Reserve Banks planning to sunset FedCash® Services via the FedPhone access solution?
A: At this time, we are no longer setting up FedCash Services via the FedPhone® access solution for new customers. If you are a current active Subscriber to FedCash Services via FedPhone, you may continue to use the service as it is used today, including the ability to request PINs for new or transitioning staff and new endpoints, as well as any necessary customer support for use of the access solution. Over time, however, all FedCash Services customers will be transitioned from the FedPhone to the FedLine Web® access solution.
Q: If you are transitioning my institution from the FedPhone to the FedLine Web access solution, what if any action should my institution take now?
A: No action is required at this time and you will be contacted when it is time to begin your transition. However, it is never too early to begin considering the FedLine Web access solution. For more information on FedCash Services via the FedLine Web access solution, visit FRBservices.org/serviceofferings/fedcash/fedlineweb.html.
Q: Will FedCash Services via the FedPhone access solution have any new updates to support my institution?
A: FedCash Services via the FedPhone access solution will not receive any additional enhancements or updates unless necessary to support the operations of the system.
Q: Are the Federal Reserve Banks planning to change or sunset all FedPhone services?
A: No, all FedPhone services other than FedCash Services via the FedPhone access solution will continue to be available. We will continue to process new Subscriber requests for other services available via the FedPhone access solution including, but not limited to FedACH Returns and Notifications of Change (NOCs) and the FedACH® Participant Directory.
Q: My institution used FedPhone to place cash orders for contingency purposes. What method will be used in place of FedPhone?
A: Manual ordering will act as your contingency option. For more information on manual ordering, you may contact your local Federal Reserve Cash Services contacts at http://www.FRBservices.org/contacts/. For more information on contingency planning, please visit: http://FRBservices.org/businesscontinuity/index.html.
Q: Why are the Federal Reserve Banks recommending the FedLine Web access solution over the FedPhone option for FedCash Services access?
A: The FedLine Web access solution provides more FedCash Services functionality for your financial institution. This includes the ability to monitor and manage cross-shipping activity, mitigate risk with FedCash Access Manager tool, as well as increased flexibility and convenience. In addition, the Federal Reserve Banks will discontinue supporting FedCash Services via FedPhone FedPhone option in the future. However, access to all other services you currently use via the FedPhone access solution and the associated PINs will continue to be available to your institution.
Q: Will my financial institution be subject to any additional costs for using FedCash Services via the FedLine Web access solution?
A: Potential cost implications will differ for every financial institution currently using FedPhone to access cash services and will depend on your institution's access to other financial services. For more information on FedCash Services via the FedLine Web access solution visit http://www.FRBservices.org/serviceofferings/fedcash/fedlineweb.html.
Q: If my financial institution currently accesses cash services via FedPhone and converts to FedLine Web, will I still have access to the FedPhone option?
A: No. Once your institution is set up to use FedCash Services via the FedLine Web access solution, access to FedPhone and all associated FedCash Services-only PINs will be discontinued. However, access to all other services you currently use via the FedPhone access solution and the associated PINs will continue to be available to your institution.
Q: I am ready to sign up for FedLine Web and begin using FedCash Services. How do I get started?
A: Everything you need to get started is available at FRBservices.org. You will want to begin by visiting the New Financial Services Customer - Setup Services and Access section. Simply follow the steps provided including the completion of the Official Authorization List (OAL) and Board Resolution, the setup forms and the selection of FedCash Services. Don't forget to consider the additional tools available to your institution. You can review these extra no-cost options in the FedCash Services via FedLine Web section which can be found under Service Offerings in the left hand navigation bar. Once you have completed the setup steps, you will want to review the eLearning tools available in the FedCash Services Education section to help train and educate your staff. Once this is complete, you are ready to begin processing cash with the Federal Reserve Banks.
Q: Are tools available to help my institution's staff learn how to process cash requests via the FedLine Web access solution?
A: Yes. Not only is the FedLine Web access solution easy to use, it provides online access to cash services via a user-friendly interface. Tools highlighting the different services are available at FRBservices.org in the FedCash Services Education section located in the left hand navigation of the home page.
Q: I received notification that my FedCash Services via FedPhone PINs have been suspended. What should I do if I still need access to FedCash services in the future?
A: You will need to sign up on FedLIneWeb to receive Cash Services in the future. Manual ordering will act as your contingency option. For more information on manual ordering, you may contact your local Federal Reserve Cash Services contacts at http://www.FRBservices.org/contacts/. Over time, all FedCash Services customers will be transitioned from the FedPhone to the FedLine Web® access solution. We recommend you begin to familiarize yourself with FedLine Web Access solution. You can find more information at FRBservices.org.
Q: Will all of my institution's PINs that have not been used in at least 120 days be disconnected?
A: No, only PINs used to access FedCash Services via FedPhone are now suspended and will ultimately be disconnected. Your institution's PINs for all other services available via the FedPhone access solution will continue to be available for use.
Q: My institution does not intend to use the PINs for access so why do they need to be disconnected?
A: PINs are a form of user credentials the Federal Reserve Banks use to help identify and provide access only to authorized users. Disconnection of the PINs will help you ensure that your institution's access to Federal Reserve Financial Services is appropriately limited to those staff with a business need.
