2008 Columbus Day Holiday Instructions

District Cash Holiday Instructions

The Federal Reserve Bank will be closed on Monday, October 13, 2008 for the Columbus Holiday.  Please refer to the instructions listed for your local office below.

First District

Boston

If your normal delivery day is Monday, October 13, you will not receive your cash order prior to the holiday.  If you need cash for the holiday, please order extra on the previous week. 

If your normal delivery day is Tuesday, October 14 place your cash order one day earlier than your normal order day.

Orders placed on Friday, October 10th before 2pm E.T. will be available for armored carrier pickup from the Federal Reserve Bank on Tuesday, October 14th. 

Please contact your armored carrier to determine how delivery will be affected by this holiday, and adjust your order dates accordingly.

Attention cash order users!  This message is in reference to the upcoming Holiday. The Federal Reserve Bank will be closed on Monday, October 13, in observance of Columbus Day.  

If your currency and coin orders are normally picked up at the Federal Reserve on Monday, October 13, the alternate pick up day is scheduled for Friday, October 10, before the holiday.  If you normally place your order on Friday, for Monday pick up, your order must be placed before your deadline on Thursday, October 9. If you normally place your order on Monday, for Tuesday pick up, you must place your order before your deadline on Friday, October 10.

If your currency and coin orders are normally picked up at the Federal Reserve on Monday, October 13, and are delivered either on Monday, October 13 ,or Tuesday, October 14, the alternate pick up day is scheduled for Friday, October 10,  before the holiday. To avoid a delay in receiving your shipment, please place your order before 1:00 p.m. EST no later than Thursday, October 9.

Cash orders that would normally be picked up from the Federal Reserve Bank by your carrier on Monday, October 13th, will need to be placed no later than 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 9th.  These orders will be available for carrier pick-up on Friday, October 10th. 

You may wish to confirm your delivery date with your carrier.
