2010 New Years Day Holiday Instructions

The Federal Reserve Bank will be closed on Friday January 1, 2010 for the New Years Day Holiday. Please refer to the instructions listed for your local office below.

Cash Holiday Instructions

First District

Boston

If your normal delivery day is Friday, January 1, you will not receive your cash order prior to the holiday. If you need cash for the holiday, please order extra on the previous week.

If your normal delivery day is Monday, January 4 place your cash order one day earlier than your normal order day.

Orders placed on Thursday, December 31, 2009 will be available for armored carrier pickup from the Federal Reserve Bank on Monday, January 4, 2010.

Please contact your armored carrier to determine how delivery will be affected by this holiday, and adjust your order dates accordingly.

If your currency and coin orders are normally picked up at the Federal Reserve on Friday, January 1, 2010 the alternate pick up day is scheduled for Thursday, December 31, 2009 before the holiday. Therefore, if you normally place your order on Thursday for Friday pick up, your order must be placed before the deadline on Wednesday, December 30, 2009.

If your currency and coin orders are normally picked up at the Federal Reserve on Friday, January 1, and are delivered either on Friday, January 1, or Monday, January 4, the alternate pick up day is scheduled for Thursday, December 31, before the holiday. To avoid a delay in receiving your shipment, please place your order before 1:00 p.m. EST no later than Wednesday, December 30.

Cash orders that would normally be picked up from the Federal Reserve Bank by your carrier on Friday, January 1st, will need to be placed no later than 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 30th. These orders will be available for carrier pick-up on Thursday, December 31st.
