The Federal Reserve Banks’ check adjustment services allow you to quickly and effectively resolve debit or credit settlement discrepancies on checks that were processed or handled by the Federal Reserve. These are both electronic and non-electronic, or paper-based, check adjustment services.
Electronic Check Adjustment Services allow financial institutions to submit, receive and manage adjustments requests via FedLine® Web access solution. The efficiencies of this service aid in expediting the research and resolution of your check adjustment requests.
Non-electronic Check Adjustment Services are handled at the Charlotte Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. Paper adjustment cases include foreign item-related requests, all adjustment-related correspondence and adjustments with required documents-to-follow (DTFs).
“Using FedLine Web to access Check Adjustments has allowed National City to get our check adjustments process down to a science. This service is so effective; we have been able to streamline our operations including same day resolution on most of our FedLine cases.”
– Jeanine Albright, Deposit Operations Section Manager, National City, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
“I send all of our requests (encoding errors, SOR Request, information requests, etc.) through FedLine. It's easy to use and the paperwork is minimal. Any questions I have are eagerly answered by knowledgeable staff.”
– Kim Lockett, Volunteer Corp. Credit Union, Brentwood, Tennessee.
