Forward Check Clearing Services

Federal Reserve Financial Services’ Forward Check Clearing Services provide financial institutions with a suite of products that allows you to deposit forward check items using a variety of cash letter types designed to accommodate varying preferences and capabilities for sorting checks prior to deposit.

Sorted Cash Letters (PDF)

Allows you to sort items into separate cash letters before depositing the items with the Federal Reserve Banks.

Mixed Cash Letters (PDF)

Allows you to minimize the amount of sorting done by your institution. You can mix all forward items (City, RCPC, Country, Other Fed, Treasury Checks, Postal Money Orders or eligible Savings Bonds) in a single cash letter for credit.

Group Sort Cash Letters

Allows you to sort items into a cash letter containing items drawn on selected endpoints designated by the Federal Reserve Banks.

Fine Sort Cash Letters

Allows you to sort items into a cash letter containing items drawn on a single routing number.
