Thank you for choosing to become a member of the Payment Notification User Group. We are excited to work with you to make this a smooth and easy process. Below are the steps you will need to take to join the Payment Notification User Group.
Your institution will need to review and agree to all the provisions set forth in Operating Circular 6, Appendix E, which sets forth the role of the Federal Reserve Banks and your obligations with respect to use of the payment notification feature of the Fedwire Funds Service. In addition, you should review the Payment Notification Guidelines, to which Appendix E refers.
To become a Payment Notification User Group member and be able to use field tag {3620} for payment notifications, you must complete and submit the appropriate agreements. If you have questions about the agreements, please contact your Customer Contact Center site’s Service Setup staff. If you have general questions about payment notification, please contact the Wholesale Operations Site that supports your District.
Mail your completed Appendix E-1 and/or Appendix E-2 agreements to your Customer Contact Center.
The Customer Contact Center will process your agreement. If your institution is eligible and the agreement has been properly completed, you will receive a welcome email with a link to the current public version of the Payment Notification User Group directory (XLS)(Updated 5/1/12). Participant Members and Agent Banks will also be sent a copy of the directory with additional information every month.
You become a member of the Payment Notification User Group the month following receipt of your properly completed form if your form is received before the 20th of the month. If your form is received on or after the 20th of the month, you will become a member of the Payment Notification User Group the second month following receipt. You may also request to become a member as of the first funds-transfer business day of a subsequent month.
