Effective April 27, 2020: Federal Reserve Cash order deadline changing to 12:00 p.m. local time – POSTPONED
April 6, 2020
On February 3, the Federal Reserve announced that we would be permanently modifying our cash order deadline for all Federal Reserve Bank offices and cash depots to 12:00 p.m. local time zone effective April 27, 2020.
As the U.S. cash supply chain is collectively focused on meeting demand for cash during these unprecedented times, we are postponing this change until further notice. We hope that this postponement will relieve your operation of any additional strain and help you focus on your pandemic response.
For organizations that have already prepared for this change
We understand that some financial institutions and armored carriers have already begun to make changes in their internal processes to prepare for this change. If your organization has already made changes to ordering practices in preparation for this change, we thank you for those efforts. You may continue to place orders for currency and coin by the 12:00 p.m. deadline.
For organizations that have not prepared for this change
If your organization has not begun to make any adjustments, you do not need to take any further action at this time to change your ordering deadline. We will communicate again when this change is rescheduled.
We appreciate your support and understanding as we respond to this pandemic together.
