FedCash® Services: Important notice for financial institutions and armored carriers in the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis and its Memphis Branch

June 8, 2020

The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis continues to monitor the evolving health situation regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19). The health and safety of everyone who visits our facilities is important to us and we continue to follow CDC guidance (Off-site).

Effective June 9, the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis and its branch in Memphis will require armored carrier personnel coming to our docks to deliver and pickup cash to wear a face covering in accordance with the CDC guidelines. Armored carrier personnel should supply their own face coverings, but if needed, we will provide an initial mask for their use.

Reminder of the Federal Reserve Wellness Check Process

On April 6, the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis announced that it will begin to implement mandatory wellness checks for all visitors, including armored carrier personnel entering our premises. Below are a few reminders on the wellness check process:

  • Wellness checks of armored carrier personnel will be conducted by a Federal Reserve Law Enforcement officer at the point of vehicle inspection and will consist of a few wellness questions.
  • If all carrier representatives pass the wellness check, the process will follow as normal.
  • If there is only one armored carrier representative in the vehicle and they fail the wellness check, we will ask them to get back into the vehicle and leave.
  • Federal Reserve Law Enforcement officers will ask them to get back in the vehicle and leave immediately without concluding their transactions if:
    • Any armored carrier representative presents signs of sickness. This applies in a situation when one carrier representative presents signs of sickness, and the other does not.
    • Any armored carrier representative in the vehicle either refuses the wellness check.
