FedCash® Services: Guidance for Depositing Excess Currency Ordered During Hurricane Irma
(Non-Contaminated Currency Only)

To: Depository Institutions (DIs) Serviced by the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and its Miami and Jacksonville Branches, and their armored carriers

In preparation for Hurricane Irma, depository institutions (DIs) serviced by the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and its Miami and Jacksonville Branches may have ordered extra currency to ensure provision to affected areas and facilitate event response and recovery.

If you have excess currency in original Federal Reserve packaging that has not been opened or in any way altered, you are encouraged to deposit this currency with the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta or its Miami and Jacksonville Branches in its original packaging. This guidance applies only to non-contaminated currency that was ordered from the Federal Reserve and remains in original Federal Reserve packaging.
