Curious about scheduling testing opportunities?

Widely available and reliable testing is an essential component of your operations. Financial institutions may want to test operations due to a new sending or receiving point, a platform change or for contingency purposes. There are simple and efficient ways to request testing for Check, FedACH®, Fedwire® Funds, Fedwire Securities and National Settlement Services.

Check and FedACH Services

Customers can schedule to send/receive a data test file for Check and FedACH Services. The Federal Reserve Bank will replace sensitive customer data in the test file with generic masking data. All transactions in the test file will contain the original customer account number and item dollar amount so successful testing can be executed. Check test item dollar amounts are defaulted to $1.

Customer testing is available Tuesday through Friday, excluding holidays. The testing schedule may be altered as business needs require. All testing requests must be received by noon ET five business days prior to the test date.

Check testing opportunities include:

  • FedReceipt® Daily — Forward
  • FedReceipt Daily — Returns
  • PDF item delivery
  • MICR-only file
  • Deposit testing

FedACH testing opportunities include:

  • Receipt of file
  • Sending of file
  • No production tests

Fedwire Funds, Fedwire Securities and National Settlement Services

Improved application test request forms are now available for the Fedwire Funds, Fedwire Securities and National Settlement Services. The forms provide clearer instructions, improve accuracy and reduce the ambiguity of test requests to help meet your financial institution’s testing needs.

The Depository Institution Testing (DIT) Application Test Request Form is required by financial institutions and service providers to schedule testing activities in the DIT environment Monday through Friday and on select Saturdays. The DIT environment can be used to perform contingency tests, train new staff and test any changes to your application or hardware that could impact your service connectivity.

The Production Application Test Request Form is required by financial institutions and service providers to schedule testing activities in the production environment on select Saturdays. The production environment is available to accommodate testing for various scenarios, including infrastructure changes, application software changes, contingency testing and operational readiness. Please note that the Federal Reserve Banks require that customers test all application-related changes in our production environment on a Saturday prior to going live.
