Federal Reserve Financial Services has enhanced the FedACH Exception Resolution Service with new data entry fields for the Payment Trace Request (PTR) case type for FedLine® users. These new fields will provide standardized, consistent data entry to enable greater automation for exception case resolution, similar to the recent updates that added new response codes for PTRs.
The new PTR data fields are:
- Account Balance
- Account Holder Name
- Address 1
- Address 2
- City
- State
- Zip Code
- Phone
- Last four digits of Social Security number
What has changed?
For Payee Not Matched PTR response codes, case responders now are asked to complete these additional data fields. Optionally, the information may be entered for other responses. The fields will be added to the CSV and JSON files at a future date. Until that time, the data entered in FedLine for these new PTR fields will be mapped to the Responder Notes with defined delimiters.
What actions do I need to take?
Begin providing the appropriate information in the new fields for PTR cases, as requested.
This enhancement illustrates our commitment to providing a secure, efficient and adaptable service for ACH exception management. If you have questions about these changes, please contact FedACH and Check Services Customer Support.
