FedPayments® Manager—Funds

Accessed via a FedLine Advantage® connection, the FedPayments Manager function provides the ability to prepare and submit outgoing messages (both value and nonvalue) for processing by the Fedwire Funds Service. For added automation, the import/export feature provides authorized users the ability to upload files with outgoing messages from your payment application and download incoming messages to your backend application to streamline processing and accounting tasks. FedPayments Manager – Funds Import Contingency Service – Coming in January 2025

Effective January 2, 2025, Fedwire® Funds Service customers with access to the service via the FedLine Direct® or FedLine Advantage® Solution will be able to use a new FedPayments Manager – Funds import contingency service as a last-resort contingency option to send critical bank transfer and customer transfer messages.

Information about how this new service will work, including drop-in calls and a training webinar, will be provided in 2024.

Fedwire Funds Offline Service Retirement – Effective December 31, 2024

After a thoughtful review of the access options available for the Fedwire Funds Service, Federal Reserve Financial Services (FRFS) has decided to eliminate telephone-based offline access to the Fedwire Funds Service (“Fedwire Funds Offline Service”) at the end of 2024. This decision was made in response to declining interest in and usage of the manually intensive and aging service.

Fedwire Funds Service Market Convention for Dodd-Frank Remittance Transfers

Outlines the standard practice (market convention) for identifying remittance transfers sent via the Fedwire Funds Service. Effective February 7, 2013, Fedwire Funds Service participants that send international funds transfers on behalf of consumers located in the U.S. (“remittance transfers”) may become subject to the remittance transfer requirements contained in the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s final rule implementing section 1073 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (“Section 1073 of the Dodd-Frank Act”) (Off-site).

Fedwire Funds Service Market Practice to support SWIFT global payments innovation (gpi) and Unique End-to-End Transaction Reference (UETR)

The Federal Reserve Banks have created a market practice to allow Fedwire Funds Service participants to carry information in tag {3620} Payment Notification related to the SWIFT global payments innovation (gpi) service. The market practice also supports the ability for Fedwire Funds Service participants to include a unique end-to-end transaction reference (UETR) in tag {3620} even when the transaction is not subject to the SWIFT gpi service.
