Services and products to support the FedNow® Service

Dwolla is a pay-by-bank payment infrastructure platform that enables businesses and consumers to send and receive funds through a single API. Platforms and enterprises connect once and gain access to all supported payment methods, with consistent status tracking, exception handling and reporting across each rail. Dwolla added the FedNow Service to its platform in 2025, giving clients access to 24x7x365 instant credit transfers without building a separate integration. Business customers integrate via Dwolla’s REST API to initiate transfers, manage customer accounts and monitor payment activity in real time through webhooks and a web-based dashboard. Intelligent orchestration routes each instant payment transaction based on the receiving bank’s eligibility. A sandbox environment is available for testing before go-live. End users (both businesses and consumers holding DDAs) send and receive payments through their platform’s front-end application, which connects to Dwolla on the back end.

Dwolla also supports digital wallets, allowing platforms and their end users to hold funds on-platforms, enabling more flexible multi-step fund flows. All transfers are executed through Dwolla’s financial institution partners. Dwolla serves use cases across lending, real estate, insurance, healthcare and B2B payments, supporting disbursements, vendor payouts and escrow transfers where instant settlement adds meaningful value.
