Check Services for serving medium to large commercial and corporate clients

Controlled Disbursement

Offering a controlled disbursement product can:

  • Assist your clients in maximizing available cash for investment and debt payments by receiving earlier daily distribution of their check presentments
  • Select from three early presentment times
  • Utilize the service to provide early access to check and account totals
  • Enable your clients to capitalize on early investment opportunities that otherwise may not be available with regular later-in-the-day check presentments

Many institutions will utilize a second routing transit number to facilitate receiving an early daily distribution of their check presentments for controlled disbursement purposes. This process has the added benefit of separating check transactions, including any that could be fraudulent, from their main operating account. This can help reduce risk for your corporate client and your institution.

Ask your relationship manager about FedReceipt® Daily Premium Delivery.

Providing services that can facilitate controlled disbursement may present a revenue opportunity depending on whether your institution chooses to charge for provision of such services. Charging a fee is strictly a business decision for your institution.

Expedited Check Deposits

Speeding up the check clearing process can help reduce risk. The expedited clearing services:

  • Accelerate funds availability, as well as help reduce risk, for your clients
  • Offered at the institution level, not the client level, as it relates to deposited cash letters
  • Provide option for clearing high dollar items same day
  • Improve profitability for your clients, especially when expediting high dollar checks
  • Reduce fraud exposure by clearing items a full day faster than regular deposit and return check clearing options
  • Enhance the collection of payments by providing early collectability and availability of funds for your clients
  • Improve profitability for your clients especially when expediting high dollar checks

Ask your relationship manager about FedForward® 9:30 a.m. and noon ET deposit service and FedReturn® 12:30 p.m. ET deposit service.

The opportunity to settle large dollar items same day as well as speed up the return process may present a revenue opportunity depending on whether your institution chooses to charge for provision of such services. Charging a fee is strictly a business decision for your institution.

Accelerated Return Knowledge
  • Expedites the delivery of returned checks, reducing the chances of your institution suffering a financial loss
  • Saves staff time and improves operations with straight-through processing of files, and if you utilize a processor, this is an excellent option since they typically process beyond normal business hours
  • Gives you information earlier allowing you to stay on top of your financial position
  • Provides the ability to post some returns before Reg. CC holds are released
  • Mitigates collection losses by having accelerated return knowledge

Ask your relationship manager about the Accelerated Imaged Returns Delivery Service.

Accelerated Check Presentment
  • Help deter check fraud
  • Check entries are received and processed in the evening rather than the next day.
  • Coupled with your bank’s positive pay product, checks considered potentially fraudulent can be identified earlier by your institution so you can notify your client to examine items quickly and efficiently
  • With reverse positive pay, your client will be able to notify you earlier when they decide to return a check

Ask your relationship manager about FedReceipt Daily Courtesy Delivery/Accelerated Forward Presentment.

Early check presentment may create a revenue opportunity depending on whether your institution chooses to charge for provision of such services. Charging a fee is strictly a business decision for your institution.

Sweep Accounts
  • Analyzing your client’s level of collected dollars and sweeping funds into money making deposit accounts for them gets easier when using a combination of the Federal Reserve Bank’s expedited deposit and presentment services
  • Collections of check deposits and returns are immediately available with the use of the same day check deposit options
  • Early certainty of presentment totals is available through either the Early Presentment or Premium Delivery services, assisting your client in obtaining higher interest earning investment options at the close of business each day
  • Assists your institution in providing innovative and valuable cash management products to your clients, while also helping your institution capitalize on growth, market share, and revenue opportunities

Ask your relationship manager about FedReceipt Courtesy Delivery, Premium Delivery and same day check clearing services.
