Federal Reserve Financial Services’ (FRFS) preferred method to process account confirmations is through Thomson Reuters Confirmation (Off-site). The digital confirmation platform delivers automated audit confirmations that are fast, simple and secure. Confirmation offers easy validation of financial sensitive data, eliminates manual work and enables a faster confirmation response, all under a robust data-security system. The secure platform is used to electronically request audit confirmations for:
- Fedwire® Securities Service account holdings information
- Account balance
- Capital Stock
- Pledged collateral holdings for Treasury Tax & Loan (TT&L)
- 31 CFR Part 202
- 31 CFR Part 225
- Discount Window loan or collateral information
Please note that the Federal Reserve Banks of Dallas and New York will not accept requests for Discount Window loan or collateral information through Confirmation. Requests for Discount Window loan and collateral information from the Federal Reserve Banks of Dallas and New York should be sent to those local Federal Reserve Banks (Off-site).
Get started
Before you begin using Confirmation, you must have an Authorization Release Form (PDF) on file before FRFS can respond to a confirmation request from your institution’s audit firm. The release form must be signed by an individual on your institution’s Official Authorization List (OAL) and only needs to be submitted once, ensuring you do not need to submit a separate authorization letter for each paper audit confirmation request.
Submission process
Confirmation is the preferred processing method for audit confirmation requests. However, as an alternative, you may submit a request manually by completing the standard Audit Confirmation Request Form (PDF). This form must be submitted according to the instructions provided by your respective local district. Requests received by other means will be returned for resubmission via the standard form. Please communicate this information to your designated audit firm to ensure efficient audit confirmation processing.
For questions about audit confirmation requests, please contact your local Account Confirmation Request Contact.
