Fedwire® Services Testing Opportunities

As announced on Aug. 27, 2026, the November 2026 release has been rescheduled and will now occur in November 2027. More details about the scope of the release will be shared this fall.

Federal Reserve Financial Services (FRFS) operates two Depository Institution Testing environments (DIT/DIT2) Monday through Friday and select Saturdays as described on the Depository Institution Testing (DIT/DIT2) environments page. In addition, the production environment is available for customer testing once a month on select Saturdays. For questions about testing, please contact Wholesale Testing Services.

The FedLine Direct® Message Environment and Configuration Change Matrix identifies the appropriate steps, lead times, and schedules to test changes you wish to make to your FedLine Direct environment.

Please note that we reserve the right to change any published testing dates to accommodate special circumstances.

Schedule a Test

A Test Request Form must be submitted for all testing activity. To receive updates regarding testing changes, ensure your Test Request Form has correct contact information.

Application Test

DIT/DIT2 Application Test Request Form

  • The DIT environment allows institutions to perform testing for various scenarios including infrastructure changes, application software upgrades, contingency testing and Fedwire certifications.
  • The DIT2 environment allows institutions to test future releases and enhancements for the Fedwire Services environment before implementation in production.
  • Select the test form that aligns with your Fedwire Service test:

    • Fedwire Securities Service
    • National Settlement Service

Fedwire Funds Service Release DIT2 Peer-to-Peer Test

Peer-to-Peer testing is available in the DIT2 environment for customers that wish to participate in scheduled end-to-end testing with other registered participants prior to implementation. As announced on Aug. 27, 2026, the November 2026 release has been rescheduled and will now occur in November 2027. Production Application Test Request Form

  • The production environment is available to accommodate testing for various scenarios, including infrastructure changes, application software changes, contingency testing and operational readiness testing prior to going live in the production environment.
  • A Production Application Test Request Form must be submitted no later than ten (10) business days prior to the requested testing date. Requests submitted after the deadline will be declined.

Connectivity Testing Only

Connectivity tests or alternate site repoint requests are supported by the FRFS customer support team. For any questions regarding connectivity testing, please reach out to SYS.FRFS.CTI.Support@rich.frb.org. You can find the link to the form below for more information.

Contingency Test

To access the Fedwire Contingency Test Registration Form, please first check to see if your institution is eligible for contingency testing. Provide the RTN number information for the institution you wish to have checked and click the search button.
