FedNow® Service 2027 Discount Program

Institutions may qualify for the FedNow Receive Discount, Send Discount or both, provided they meet the respective eligibility requirements. The discounts are available to both new and current FedNow Service participants. See details below for eligibility criteria, discount amounts and qualification requirements.

For institutions that enable the ability to receive FedNow instant payments

The FedNow Receive Discount provides a one‑time statement credit for institutions that have enabled the ability to receive instant payments and meet the additional service participation requirements outlined below. The credit will automatically be applied upon qualification unless the institution opts out.

To qualify for the above discount, the institution must participate in the following FRFS services:2

  • Full-service participant in the Exception Resolution Service
  • Subscribe to FedPayments® Insight Service
  • Premier subscription to FedDetect® Anomaly Notification Service OR API integration of a pre-transaction fraud mitigation service (e.g., network intelligence)

For institutions that enable the ability to send FedNow instant payments

The FedNow Send Discount provides a statement credit to institutions that have FedNow send capabilities enabled and meet the volume requirements. Institutions must opt in to receive the statement credit and are eligible to do so as soon as send is enabled. The statement credit is issued in two parts:

  • 50% applied upon opt-in
  • 50% applied after the institution meets the volume qualification requirements3

  2. All required FRFS services must remain active for at least six months. If the institution fails to maintain the required services for the full period, the statement credit may be reversed. ↩︎
  3. An institution must meet the volume requirements for six qualifying months within the calendar year or six months following opt-in, whichever is longer. Months do not need to be consecutive. If volume requirements are not met within the program period, the initial 50% credit applied at opt-in may be reversed. ↩︎
