Depository Institution Testing (DIT2) Testing

We have built a second dedicated Depository Institution Testing environment—the DIT2 environment—to be used for ISO 20022 message format testing. All ISO 20022 messages (including those that are mandatory) are available in the DIT2 environment with a few optional messages to follow in mid-March 2024.

ISO 20022 Messages available in DIT2 Environment:

  • Business Application Header (head.001)
  • Customer Credit Transfer (pacs.008)
  • Financial Institution Credit Transfer (pacs.009)
  • Payment Return (pacs.004)
  • Positive/Negative Acknowledgement for Value messages (pacs.002)
  • Positive Acknowledgement for Nonvalue messages (admi.007)

  • Investigation Response (camt.111) available mid-March 2024

It is imperative that customers and service/software providers verify the integrity of their messages during testing and be able to reconcile their Fedwire Funds Service activity the same way they would during a normal processing cycle.

FedLine Direct connection owners (i.e., customers and service providers) can also opt-in for peer testing (PDF) in the DIT2 environment.

Please submit a DIT2 Test Request Form when you need assistance with testing in the DIT2 environment (e.g., if you need test messages to be sent to you, when you are ready to perform your certification testing). View available DIT2 testing dates.

Customers who have certified in the DIT2 environment will be prioritized by the Support Center when providing assistance after the Fedwire Funds Service’s cutover to the ISO 20022 message format.

Note: The existing DIT environment will continue to be used for the legacy Fedwire Application Interface Manual (FAIM) version 3.0.7 message format testing.

DIT2 Testing Group: Manual Entry Attestation

The Fedwire Funds Service customers noted in the table below are required or encouraged to test their ability to manually enter transactions into the FedPayments Manager — Funds application in the DIT2 environment. This testing will help ensure that these customers can perform their critical work using the manual entry screens in the FedPayments Manager — Funds application in the event they encounter any issues post-ISO 20022 implementation. Customers that are required to complete this step must submit an attestation to Fedwire.Funds.Format@ny.frb.org.
